Popular Ideas for Wedding Party Gifts
Although it is expected that you will present all the members of your wedding party with a gift, there is no reason to blow your budget doing so. Make a list of all the members of your wedding party, including the flower girl, ring bearer and any other helpers such as guest book attendants. Once you know how many people that you are shopping for, it is easier to come up with a budget. Let the groom shop for the ring bearer and groomsmen, and the bride shop for the bridesmaids and flower girl if you like, but both the bride and groom should participate in choosing the gifts for each set of parents.
It is clear that there is no gift that can adequately express your appreciation for the help provided by an efficient and organized best man or maid of honor. You certainly do not want to insult them by gifting them with a token that appears cheap, or like an afterthought. This is, however, an expensive and stressful time in your life, and every choice can seem overwhelming. So, what are some popular gifts for members of the wedding party?
Gifts for the bridal party: Your bridal party has a lot of responsibility and probably some expense when it comes to buying dresses, planning the shower, and other wedding responsibilities. While you are making yourself crazy planning every last detail, your bridesmaids are keeping you from going over the edge. It is important to give each member bridal party a gift that shows them how much you appreciate what they have done for you over the months leading up to your wedding day.
If it is in the budget, jewelry is always nice, but it is not necessary. Totes, spa kits, personalized tee shirts or tank tops or a nice key chain are all special gifts for the members of your bridal party. You may want to provide a special gift for your maid of honor. If so, this can be done privately.
What about the flower girl? The flower girl is easy to buy for. Most little girls love the idea of being in a wedding, and are easily pleased. A necklace, doll, or personalized tote bag are all gifts that the flower girl may cherish.
Gifts for the groomsmen: There are many choices available when shopping for your groomsmen. What direction you go really depends on your relationship with these guys as well as your budget. If your relationship is casual and your budget is tight, gifts such as beer mugs or pocket knives are nice gift ideas. If you have a long standing relationship with these men and can fit it into the budget, a gift such as monogrammed cuff links or some type of electronic device is a nice way to show your appreciation. Again, the groom may wish to provide a little extra for the best man, but that gift can be exchanged in private.
What about the ring bearer? The ring bearer certainly deserves a special gift. Piggy banks, candy jars or a personalized football all make gifts that your ring bearer is sure to enjoy.
Shopping for the parents: It is a nice gesture to present your parents with a gift that expresses your thanks for the job that they did raising you, and their support on your wedding day. Your parents, of course, love you and do not want you to break your budget buying them a gift, but it is possible to keep an eye on your budget while shopping for your parents.
Photograph frames, including digital frames that allow your parents to display a rotating group of pictures, a vase, handkerchiefs and cigars are all popular gifts for the parents of the wedding couple. This is probably the first opportunity that you have to present a gift to your parents from you and your new spouse, so it can be an emotional occasion. Take your time shopping so that you can choose a fitting gift.
The bottom line is, wedding party gift ideas are not limited to bracelets and key chains (although today's fashionable selections still make these nice gifts!) In addition to travel bags and totes, there is a wide variety of t-shirts, sweat shirts, hats and other "bridal gear" for both girls and guys, even for your pets. The sky is the limit when it comes to showing your appreciation to the friends and loved ones who such a big part of this special event in your life. By Arianna Jordan
Here Are Five Great Travel Ideas for the Holiday Season
Here are five travel ideas that you can do, even when you're on a tight budget. Let's have a look at how you can do it. Try thinking of it as therapy for your spirit. Just a brief rest from the rat race can certainly work wonders at relieving all that built up stress and re-energizing your spirits!
1.How well do you know all the towns and attractions within a 50 mile radius of home? When you are thinking of a vacation, that fabulous little coastal town just 20 miles away may not even cross your mind. One thing to consider however is that if you have never been there, you will have absolutely no idea how it gained it's gorgeous reputation. Why not go online and check it out. You may be surprised at what you find. Is it an artsy community, full of bed and breakfasts', artisans, a cheese factory or even a winery? Go and check out their calendar for local festivals and theatre productions. A one night stay at the historic B&B and two days filled with exploring the town won't ruin the budget and serves to put enough distance between you and the same-old same-old to allow you to lose yourself for just a couple of days, returning home refreshed and cheery, ready to face another month of toil.
2.Why not trying to modify the parent-only romantic weekend. Depending on where you live, you may not even have to leave your home town! During the colder months, hotels often run specials to attract visitors during the slow season. Check your local newspaper and give some of the better hotels a call to see if they've got anything going. If your goal is to take it easy, have a swim, watch movies without having to get up and make breakfast, this extremely affordable travel idea could just be the ticket. Think of it this way, should an emergency arise, you can be home in ten minutes!
3.If you are lucky enough that your purse allows for a bit more extravagance, go and scour the travel newsletters for those last minute bargain airfares. They are certainly out there, you just need to check them regularly. Many are all-inclusive packages that get you to some beach front paradise. Even if you have to set aside money from each paycheck for a few months, this travel idea can have you snorkeling, sun bathing and enjoying an exotic array of food in a new and exciting culture that satisfies your travel itch and lasts for months to come.
4.Certainly don't forget that the travel industry is in somewhat of a slump. They need your business. You have probably seen the television ads for resorts, offering gas coupons and plenty of other incentives, along with reduced rates. Choose ones which are within driving distance and take advantages of these cheap prices. These days, you need to think outside the box for travel ideas that are affordable and still exciting enough to provide that break you need.
5.The last travel idea applies to when you're traveling by air. Considering now that airlines charge over the top for extra baggage, pack wisely and save. Wherever you're going, there's absolutely no reason to take more than a carry-on, even when traveling in winter. Wear your coat, boots and at least one sweater when you board. Roll the rest of your clothes. Buy your toiletries at your destination. Two dress outfits, one pair of dress shoes, a pair of jeans, a few pairs of undies and a couple of t-shirts is really all you'll need.
It can be almost guaranteed that one of the above travel ideas will fit in perfectly with your vacation plans. Enjoy! By Brett Muscio
Travel tips for Majorca Holidays
The island offers buildings, architecture and landmarks, as well as miles of coastline. Palma is the capital of Majorca with a long Moorish history. For beach lovers, Alcudia is a family favourite, famed for its beaches which include a 15km golden sand beach. Cala d'Or is quieter and is set in small rocky coves, with sandy beaches shadowed by pine trees.
Es Trenc has a superb beach with a peaceful location, three kilometres of white sand and azure sea.
Lletas also offers an excellent family holiday with fine, sandy beaches and a handful of bars and restaurants. Cala Fornells is a quiet beach resort, Puerto d'Antratx is located on the harbour side and the sandy beaches at Camp de Mar and Peguera are close to this location. Sa Coma is modern and quiet and has a fabulous white sandy beach. Former fishing village, Cala San Vicente on the north coast has sandy beaches leading down to beaches set between cliffs. There are over 90 beaches available, but Majorca also offers other attractions including a growing number of golfing opportunities.
On Majorca Holidays you can also visit Marineland's for their dolphin and sea lion shows. Children's beach is ideal for families and for those who want to travel around, an antique train travels the 17 miles between Palma and Soller. Beach Poble Espanyol, in Palma is a typical Spanish village showing different styles of architecture, with reproduction houses from Cordoba, Toledo and Madrid together with typical houses from the Spanish regions. For those who want to see some of the history of the region, Palau de l'Almudaina in Palma is a royal palace from the times of the Arab conquest.

Getting away from all your worries
Everyone has their own idea of the perfect getaway. Whether it is jetting off to the sun or a more energetic experience, there is something for everyone nowadays and the deals out of season are good at the moment. When is the best time to travel? If you are lucky enough to be able to travel at any time, then always travel out of season. The prices of long haul flights rise dramatically around the traditional holiday periods so if you fancy a trip to America, India or further a field, then always aim to travel out of season. Check the airlines for the best deals around and do some research into your own accommodation. There are abundant websites that list other people's experiences but beware that these are always subjective.
Don't always imagine that the best holidays are to be found abroad. We all need a break away and sometimes, just taking a weekend away somewhere in the UK can be a magic tonic. If you are on a budget, which the majority of us are at the moment, look for bed and breakfast deals in Devon, Cornwall or Dorset or on the east coast. Just getting away from the humdrum everyday existence can do you the world of good, and the best thing about domestic breaks is that you don't have to prepare as comprehensively as if you were going abroad.
Plan to take a break at least once a year. Experts agree that it is essential for general health and well being that you change your habits once in a while. Give yourself something to look forward to - get hold of brochures and surf the internet to see what is around and about the place you are visiting. Make sure that all of your documents are up to date, bear in mind that renewing a passport in peak times can take weeks. If you are travelling to a more exotic country, check what health requirements there are. By Baz Luhrmann
Budget Travel - Tips To Find Cheap Holiday Deals And Destinations
Tip #1: Book red-eye flight ticket if travel time is not important to you. Normally, from the major airlines, you will get 50% off for a flight at night. However, you have to order hotel room or arrange vehicles to pick you up.
Tip #2: Try to avoid traveling during major holidays and school vacations. These are considered prime traveling seasons and nearly everyone is planning his or her travel.
During these times tickets and hotel rooms are offered with few discounts. So, if you are able, try to travel outside of the main holidays or weekends instead.
Tip #3: Have all the necessity packed within the weight limit of airlines luggage. For one thing, you don't have worry about the overweight luggage charges. For another, as you have all you need, you simply ignore these services that will charge you extra.
Tip #4: Understand the price and services of each room. Try to ask what the difference is behind the price gaps. Do they offer free meal?
Do they offer free laundry? What are the surroundings and views outside the window of your hotel room?
Tip #5: The most money-saving method to grab the cheap plane ticket is to build a connection with the travel agency. Most travel agencies will help you to get the largest discount once you sing contact with them. So you don't have to be at the mercy of the ticket agent. By Brad Matthew Alexzander.
How to Set Your Wedding Budget - 3 Easy Steps
Step 1: Talk to all contributing parties
As the cost of weddings increase, so does the number of people paying for them (good news for the bride's parents, who no longer need to take out a second mortgage to fund their daughter's nuptials). You'll need to sit down with everyone who is going to contribute to the wedding-day piggy bank and discuss how to logically divide the tab and arrive at a total number.
Step 2: Allocate totals for each service accordingly
Now that you've arrived at a reasonable total budget, you'll need to determine where that money is going to go. Come up with a list of items/vendors/details you'll need, and how much you'll allocate to each. Then you can customize each amount based on your style and priorities. For instance, if a fabulous wedding gown is particularly important to you, you may splurge in that area, and make up for it by cutting back on your floral arrangements.
Step 3: Get a system and start saving
You'll need to establish a reliable method to keep track of all savings and expenditures. There are endless ways to save and track your finances, from sophisticated software to old-fashioned spreadsheets.
Bank it - If you've already got a hefty seed to put down for your affair, talk with your financial institution about the best way to accrue interest leading up to your big day. A seemingly nominal interest rate can mean the difference between Vera Wang and hand-me-downs. Just be sure to open an account separate from your personal savings so that you won't be tempted to dip into the funds and ultimately find yourself in the hole.
Save smart - If you are starting from zero with your wedding-day savings, consider paying for as many of your expenses as possible on a credit card that amasses benefits like frequent flier miles, rewards, or cash back that can go toward your honeymoon travel. By Cory Russell

The internet is ideal for this and it I amazing just how much you can learn from it; I am even able to know how much it will cost before I see my travel agent. These people are not only there to book your travel, they are there to answer any and all of your questions regarding traveling. For instance, when international travel is concerned, they should be able to help you with local laws to the country you are traveling too that could relate to your stay.
They can make recommendations of places that are particularly interesting, if there are any fees for entry into specific countries and laws relating to driving that can be easy to fall foul of. These people are there to make your life easier and ensure that your vacation needs are completely taken care of, something the internet cannot do. Don't get me wrong, the internet is great but it is not caring and it is always reassuring dealing with a real person. You can book all of your flights and hotels through the internet but when it comes to complaining or trying to resolve an issue, suddenly a website cannot be of assistance whereas travel agents are there to assist you. A few years ago when my husband to be and I decided to elope and get married, it was a real travel agent that helped make it all possible.
She could not have done more for us and she seemed to take the arrangements very personally, something I have never forgotten. Once we had sorted out the budget she was able to give us plenty of options and was incredibly helpful in locating companies that could provide special services. S. so all we had to do was book the vacation. The other benefit of a travel agent is of course when it comes to problems you may have experienced on your vacation; something they are far more able to deal with than a computer. By George Briggs
All inclusive holidays do what they say on the can!
With an all inclusive holiday many hotels are now offering this facility on top of bed and breakfast, half and full board and it can work out to be an excellent and cost effective option. All inclusive incorporates all food and drink on your holiday within the resort. Although this may appear limiting for those who maybe want to travel further a field and explore their destination more, it takes the hassle out of having to carry around money all the time. And as we all know, we tend to spend much more on holiday than we intend so it is a good way to budget out.
All you can eat and drink is just that. Most hotels have buffet style meals, with a huge variety of food to cater for all tastes. Drink should include local wines and spirits and soft drinks and most hotels have dedicated all inclusive bars to differentiate them from paying customers. Beware that the food is often very similar from day to day although a lot of hotels do have themed nights - French or Italian cuisine. Some hotels offer the option of a la carte for one night per person per stay.
Facilities on all inclusive holidays should also be free although there are often hidden extras which you should check before you book. Free windsurfing may mean one free session per person per stay, the rest of the time, you have to pay.
As a rule of thumb, the smaller all inclusive hotels are generally better able to produce better quality as the larger ones tend to mass cater. So check out the resort you want to go to and opt for a hotel with a smaller number of rooms.
Tunisia, Spain, Turkey and the Canaries are all past masters at all inclusive and cater well for the UK tourist. By Baz Lurhmann

Paris. A Charming City
The city is very beautiful. The architecture is stunning, the tourist attractions amazing and I found the people to be friendly.
Paris is a place you can't describe in words to someone, it is a place you have to experience for yourself. The city is like a living museum, with architecture dating back to the 13th Century. That is when Notre Dame began to be built.
The grandeur of Paris really became evident in the 16th century, when Versailles became Louis XIV's headquarters. In the 19th Century, Napoleon appointed Baron Haussmann to develop modern Paris, with its long boulevards and beautiful buildings, the wide avenues and parks that still make the city unique today.
Paris is internationally renowned for its architecture and its influence in fashion and the arts. Walking is the best way to see and get a feel for the city. You can explore the city's districts, its old centres, cemeteries and great parks.
When you first arrive in Paris, I highly recommend getting on the Hop on, Hop off buses. Stay on and do a circuit and get a feel for where everything is. It is very easy to walk around once you know where you are.
I remember one day, later in the afternoon, we walked from Notre Dame back to our hotel near the Place de la Concorde. It was very charming and it turned dark and the lights came on. We stopped to have a meal in a restaurant. It was just wonderful.
The Champs-Elysées is a fantastic place to experience people watching. Another one is the Place de la Concorde.
Those who fancy a trendier atmosphere, can visit districts such as Le Marais, Quartier Latin, or the quaint Canal St-Martin. If you like art galleries, museums, or famous cabarets such as Folies Bergères, Paris has everything to meet your dreams. Be aware, Moulin Rouge, does not look like much during the day but it comes alive at night when the lights go on.
The top attractions in Paris are certainly the Eiffel Tower, originally a "temporary" construction for the 1889 Universal Exposition, the Arc de Triomphe, commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte and the massive cathedral Notre Dame. A walk from Place de la Concorde towards Champs Elysée is also a must as well as the world famous Louvre museum.
One place you must visit is the Montparnasse Tower. There are less crowds than the Eiffel Tower, it has an enclosed viewing area as well as being able to go onto the roof. The best part is that you get the Eiffel Tower in your photos! I highly recommend it.
There is obviously much more to explore! Père Lachaise The largest cemetery in Paris, and said reputed to be the most visited in the world. A huge and peaceful park home of those who have experienced French life over the past 200 years.
Jardin du Luxembourg. The garden of the French Senate which is also a large public park. A recommended place to relax and savour the cosmopolitan atmosphere of a rich palace garden.
Musée d'Orsay. This is the place for art and artefacts from the Middle Ages and Impressionist eras with leading collections. Originally a railway station and the building itself is worth a visit.
Le Marais. Situated on the right bank (3rd and 4th Arr.), this trendy district has beautiful architecture of the 17th century. There are also many museums, art galleries and historic sites such as Paris' oldest square, Place des Vosges where you can find Victor Hugo's residence.
Montmartre. One of the most popular historic areas with the Sacré Coeur Basilica on the top of the hill, the highest point in Paris. It's also famous for the cafés and studios of many great artists. I recommend taking the tram to the top, then walking down the steps and then browsing the artists work in the narrow streets at the bottom. A fantastic experience.
Versailles. Near Paris, this is where King Louis XIV built his Palace in the 17th century. For those who love Renaissance architecture, don't miss it! The Palace has been recently renovated and you'll also enjoy lovely walks in the well kept gardens.
Bateaux Mouches. One of the most relaxing, and romantic ways to view some of the city's oldest and most majestic historic monuments is to get a ride on the famous and unique long-boats that leisurely glide along the Seine.
Despite the number of operators from which to choose, most of the boat lines offer similar itineraries and are equipped with an audio announcement system, providing commentary on the passing sights in several different languages.
In Paris, you must differentiate between restaurants, bistro or brassieres. A bistro is usually small, featuring simple food, sometimes with entertainment. A brassiere serves hearty meals along with beer and wine, usually cheap and with a liquor and coffee bar. Like New York or London, the choice is huge. Each place has its own particular atmosphere and style whether recipes are local or from all over the world.
However Paris is internationally renowned as a food capital. It is the right place to test the high-quality French products and delights of traditional French cookery thanks to the talented and creative chefs. Parisian restaurants are real gourmets delight. There are good places for all budgets. Whether it's a restaurant, a bistro or a brassiere, you'll be able to enjoy a real culinary feast with gourmets from all over the world.
In Paris you will find lots of trendy and popular bars serving all kind of drinks with a good mix of music and sometimes with DJs. Take your time and sample a few, they are all open late! Paris has a very diverse nightlife. From high-tech dance clubs to mellow jazz haunts, there's anything to fit your mood. Also try the famous cabaret venues for a great night of vibrant entertainment!
Paris is home to some of the most famous designers and luxurious brand names in the fashion industry like Louis Vitton or Dior. But you'll also find more affordable brands matching your budget in the huge department stores or many popular neighbourhoods.
Paris is served by two major airports, Roissy Charles de Gaulle (CDG), 25 Km and Orly 15 Km from the city centre. A third airport, Paris Beauvais, is mainly served by low cost airlines. A paying shuttle service (€13) is organized to and from its terminals and Paris-Porte Maillot. From CDG terminals, the Roissybus leaves every 15 minutes from 6.00 and arrives to the city centre (at Opéra) after a journey of 45-60 minutes. (€8.40 one way). After midnight there are night busses going to Place du Châtelet, 90 rue de Rivoli every 30 minutes (€8 one way). The cheapest and fastest (30 minutes) is the underground RER B to Gare du Nord running from 4.56 in the morning to 23.56 at night (€8 one way).
From Gare du Nord you are connected to Paris' metro network. Air France busses go to Porte Maillot. Taxis can be found near the terminals' baggage collection area exits. Average day fares are €50. From Orly, the automatic metro Orlyval takes you to RER B Antony station from 6.00 to 23.00. Combined ticket price (Metro+RER+Orlyval)is about €9. Other options are the airport shuttle buses going to RER C Pont de Rungis station. Combined ticket price (Metro+RER+shuttle) is around €5.60. As for busses, the Orly bus takes you straight to RER B Denfert-Rochereau. Daytime taxi rates are approximately €35.
Public transport. The RATP runs the city's local transport system. The bus, underground (metro), and commuter train system (RER) is divided into five zones, and is cheap and efficient. The underground runs from 5:30 in the morning to 0:30 in the night. Tickets are valid on both busses and trains, and can be purchased from the stations and in kiosks.
Travel cards, ranging from one to five days, are also available at the airport, at underground stations, and from tourist information offices. 1 day travel card zone 1-3 costs approximately €8.30.

Choosing A Budget Friendly Vacation Destination.
The more open you are to exploring non-traditional vacation destinations, the more likely you are to find opportunities to travel less expensively.
One way to start exploring your destination options is to make a list of the things that are important to you on your vacation. Is it important to you that there is a beach available? Do you prefer vacation sports and activities that would require special terrain, such as mountains, hiking paths, or snow?
Think about some of your favorite vacation memories. Where were you and what were you doing that made them special?
Some of the popular destinations that you choose might have less widely-known similar sites available. Think outside the box and don't narrow the playing field to the top ten locations that you can come up with off the top of your head. Do some research to find out what locations you might not have considered that have something wonderful to offer.
How do you find out what sites may interest you? Look for deals for specific destinations advertised on your favorite travel and accommodations site. Find out the cheapest airfare packages and plan a vacation around that destination. You can use a map to look up cities that are close in climate and geography to a more popular vacation destination.
Find out what they have to offer by visiting the city's Chamber of Commerce website. You can also get ideas from the blogs and sites of others who travel frequently.
There are many other exotic locations and inexpensive places waiting to be explored. By MarleneChallis
